- 1975 - Candidate of Sciences degree (Philosophy) from Institute of Philosophy, Soviet Academy of Sciences, Moscow. Dissertation: "Definitions and definability in elementary theories."
- 1980 - the State diploma of docent of philosophy.
- 1983 - Doctor of Sciences degree (Philosophy) from Institute of Philosophy and Law, Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Kiev. Dissertation - "The growth of knowledge in science."
- 1988 - the State diploma of professor of philosophy.
RESEARCH AFFILIATION
- 1975 - 1992: a member of the research staff at the department of logic and philosophy of science, Institute of History, Philology and Philosophy, Novosibirsk, Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
- From 1993 - head of information-analytical department at the Institute of Philosophy and Law (former Institute of History, Philology and Philosophy), Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
TEACHING
- 1975 till now: a member of the staff in Novosibirsk State University, the chair of philosophy. Lectures in philosophy of science, logic, theory of argumentation, history of philosophy, ethics.
- 1995 (Summer term): Visiting professor at Salzburg University, Austria. Lectures in philosophy and history of science, seminar in logic.
